A Workshop on International Comparison of Industrial Energy Efficiency,which was organized by Energy Research Institute (ERI),was held in Beijing on March 18-19. Officials and Experts from IEA, International Aluminum Institute, International Iron &Steel Association, European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic), Institute of Energy Economics Japan, Japan Cement Association, Japan Chemical Industry Association, Japan paper association, National Development and Reform Commission, Energy Research Institute, National Bureau of Statistics, China Cement Association, China Non-ferrous Industry Association, China Iron &Steel Association, China Petroleum &Chemical Industry Association as well as representatives from corporations took part in the conference, in which they took discussions on issues of current energy efficiency status , calculate methodology，indicators for benchmarking, improvement, potential etc. The participants also conducted team discussions on the topics of benchmark in Iron &Steel, Petrochemical, Cement and Pulp & Paper industries.
